Published on November 7th, 2013
Fair Share Northgate II will be holding a Health Fair on Friday November 15th 2013, running from 11am – 4pm. It will be held in the Community Center of the affordable housing high-rise located at 500 N. 7th Street and is open to the public.
A variety of vendors and health care organizations from the nearby area will be in attendance and have staff on hand to provide information and answer questions about their services. Nurses and medical technicians will also be available to conduct health screenings such as blood pressure and blood sugar tests.
Another component of this event includes providing information and resources pertaining to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as “Obamacare,” set to go into effect on January 1, 2014. Fair Share Northgate II Social Services staff is collaborating with Camden Churches Organized for People (CCOP) and the Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers (CCHP) to offer Health Fair visitors a chance to learn the ins and outs of the upcoming health insurance changes, including the Medicaid expansion. Visitors will also have the opportunity to schedule appointments to receive one-on-one assistance from trained associates in filling out the new application forms for health care enrollment.
